Title: Pumpkin Supreme

Description:
This pumpkin dessert is to die for!! A friend shared some with us last year for thanksgiving and I've been dreaming about it ever since.   I finally have the recipe and it will now be served every thanksgiving.   I'm not a pumpkin pie person so this recipe is a good alternative for me.

Ingredients:
1 ¾ C graham cracker crumbs
1 ¾ C sugar, divided
½ C melted margarine
2 eggs beaten
8oz cream cheese, softened
1 pkg Dream Whip topping mix prepared according to directions
¾ C milk
2 (3 ¾ oz) boxes of instant vanilla pudding
2 C mashed pumpkin (or 1 can)
Dash of cinnamon and ground nutmeg
Cool Whip

Directions:
Combine graham cracker crumbs, 1 cup sugar and margarine. Mix well. Press into a deep 9x13 pan and set aside. Combine eggs, remaining ¾ cups sugar and cream cheese. Beat until light and fluffy. Pour over crust and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and cool. Combine milk with pudding in a bowl, beating well. Add pumpkin and spices, mix well. Fold prepared Dream Whip into the pumpkin mixture and then spread it over the cream cheese layer. Finally top entire pumpkin layer with cool whip and chill.

If you're not much of a pumpkin pie person, perhaps Pumpkin Chiffon Pie would be more your style.   Pumpkin is mixed with spices and gelatin, cooked, cooled and then folded into whip cream.   This is poured into a prebaked crust and topped with whip cream sprinkled with cinnamon and refrigerated.   So, so tasty, and still has the traditional homemade feel.   You can even substitute sweet potato for the pumpkin.
