I just wanted to add a new category for little notes I find scribbled on pieces of paper that I didn't want to forget.   As I go through old letters and emails I will add to it.

Here's the scribbled note I found and hopefully Jared can add to it - Jared's orders to change units came the same week his unit he was leaving got orders to deploy.   Do you remember what year this was and the circumstances Jared?

Much of our happiness is not so much finding things to be happy about but in recognizing the Lord's hands in our lives and being grateful for it.   It often comes when we reflect on our past and remember it with a new perspective.   As we do that we can get better at making righteous choices and feeling trust in the Lord and we will feel peace and comfort and be content and patient and hopeful with the here and now.

Don't wait for me to add what I find in past emails if experiences come to mind.   Let's hear of some of your tender mercies.   Our family has been so blessed!   Dad and I just celebrated our 39th weddding anniversary.   The journey here has been full of joys and sorrows.   I'm so glad the Lord has helped us throughout our lives.   I understand Eve's rejoicing.   I can say - if it weren't for the hard times and some of the hard choices we have made in spite of not knowing the outcome we would not have known the joy we feel today.

We love all of you so much!   I recently heard some tender mercy stories from a couple of you. I hope you are writing them down for your children.   If you haven't yet, try writing them here.   They don't have to be long or worded perfect.   So that we can be edified together.

This note goes with the photos of emails that I will post in the photo section until I get it organized different.   I am in the process of digitizing the emails of the past but so far they are scans.   Don't worry, everything will be organized on my blog so you can read it in the year folder in chronological order but my purpose here is to remind us of past happiness
