| Donna and I just listened to the historic Women's Conference - the first one to invite all women 8 years and up. I was especially touched by Sister Linda Burton's talk about being a disciple of Christ - willing to keep covenants and follow the Savior. It is often done through sacrifice of time, energy or desire but it will make us perfect (complete) and we will feel the love of the Savior as we do.
I thought about all my granddaughters and their mothers gathered together to listen and hope you felt us all together in spirit. I think we are an amazing group and I look forward to what the future brings especially as we stay in touch and support each other in joys and sorrows. You can be confident that we love each other and pray for each other.
I feel confident that our grandmothers and great grandmothers, who have gone before us and set wonderful examples of women who sacrificed for their families and kept covenants that they made from the time they were baptized, also love us and pray for us until we can all be together again.
Let me know how you felt about this meeting if you feel to share. Meanwhile, know that I am proud of you and proud of the heritage we share and I hope to connect you to your ancestors through stories of their lives. Love you much! | | |

| I felt pretty emotional through the whole meeting but for different reasons. I think it was just one of those "lovely" pregnancy days where your hormones are tired of being normal and would rather ride a roller coaster. Pretty certain that was the case because no sane person would need to hold back a fresh set of tears when nothing is happening on the screen, like someone walking up to the pulpit. I mean, seriously? But I think crying was very natural when Sister Wixom asked everyone to sing "Teach Me to Walk in the Light", or when they played a video that sort of tracks the changes that happen in a girl's lifetime. I also enjoyed the second speaker's talk quite a bit. | | |

| Yep, I was pretty emotional as well...although I'm not quite sure the reason either. I was sitting next to Sarah and thinking people are going to think you're emotionally unbalanced if you cry during the opening song....and on it went. | | |

| I forget that you weren't home like Donna and I. We could be emotional and only bother Brian and Grandpa. Brian says women's meetings are too perky and chirpy. In honor of the event and especially in honor of my daughters and granddaughters Grandpa and I and Sarah, Brian and Donna helped plant a row of lavendar lilac bushes along our back border. One day they will all be in beautiful lavendar bloom if they survive. But lilacs are pretty hardy and I think my daughters and granddaughters are pretty hardy too - just like their grandmas and great grandmas and wonderful women ancestors that I will make sure you know before I leave this life. Remember life is hard but that is what makes us hardy - and beautiful! I love all of you! | | |
